S. Charles Marshall, MD

Bio


Charles Marshall, MD, earned his medical degree from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 2000. Following medical school, he completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of New Mexico, then two fellowships: one in arthroscopy and sports medicine and another in adult joint replacement. Dr. Marshall also has several years of research experience in complex knee injuries and training in muscle sparing, minimally invasive surgery. Prior to becoming an orthopedic surgeon, he played professional soccer in the United States and France. Dr. Marshall played on the Under 20 United States National team and captained the Yale Bulldogs soccer team in college. He has been an orthopedic consultant for Alta Ski Clinic, Solitude Ski Clinic, Utah Grizzlies Hockey, Real Salt Lake (MLS), Copper Hills High School, and Nitro Circus (MTV). Dr. Marshall specializes in knee arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, Carticel cartilage replacement and repair, meniscus transplants, knee joint replacements, shoulder arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization, shoulder joint replacements, arthroscopic labral hip repair, core decompression for avascular necrosis, hip replacement by direct anterior approach (muscle sparing) and orthopedic trauma.
